Kugenuma Kaigan Hug-Ride Skate Park Opens by Japan’s Premier Beach Destination

We’re thrilled to announce the grand opening of Kugenuma Kaigan Hug-Ride Skate Park, an exciting new hub for urban sports, located right next to one of the most beautiful and iconic beaches in Japan—Kugenuma Kaigan Beach in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
This cutting-edge urban sports park officially opened its doors yesterday and is already drawing attention from skaters, BMX riders, scooter enthusiasts, and inline skaters from across the country. With its stunning oceanfront location, Hug-Ride is set to become a landmark destination for urban sports lovers in Japan and beyond.
As the Executive Chairman of the Design Examination Committee, I’m incredibly proud to have played a part in this visionary project. Our mission was to ensure that every element of the park—from safety to flow, to creativity—was held to the highest standards for functionality and design. The park offers thoughtfully designed skate bowls, street sections, and rider-friendly features that cater to all skill levels.
This project came to life through the dedicated collaboration of an incredible team, including:
Murasaki Sports (a leading name in Japanese action sports culture)
Beachtown
And many more passionate contributors and stakeholders.
Kugenuma Kaigan Hug-Ride Skate Park is more than just a skate park—it’s a symbol of community, culture, and the growing popularity of urban sports in Japan. Whether you’re a beginner learning the ropes or a seasoned pro looking for your next challenge, this space welcomes everyone.
Stay tuned for events, workshops, and competitions coming soon. And next time you’re in Fujisawa, don’t forget to bring your board, scooter, or bike and come experience the ride!
